Podcasts To Get You Through Your Morning Commute

I love a good podcast. I'm honestly a bit obsessed.

I am just waiting for the day that my commute to work can be like 15 minutes or less. Right now, my commute is an hour and a half... 70 miles... one way. I love my job, but wow, the commute is awful. With a commute that long, I've had to figure out ways to use that time wisely. I'm losing three hours each day sitting in a car.

Because I'm driving, checking e-mails and working on other projects isn't really possible. In the beginning, I would listen to the radio the entire time, but honestly, that gets old after a while. I can only listen to music for so long, so I decided to give podcasts a try.

The podcasts that I listen to vary. I've got some entertaining ones, serious ones, career-building ones, and even ones that are all about advice. I started out by asking for recommendations and seeing if people I follow on social media had a podcast to listen to and as I started listening, I started to learn what I liked.

Maybe your commute is just 15 minutes or maybe it is long, like mine... podcasts are a great way to kick-start your morning and make you feel a little better during your commute to work or school. Here a my current favorites!

Girls Night With Stephanie May Wilson
Each week, Stephanie has a girlfriend over and they talk through friendship, faith, relationships, and self-confidence. This podcast really feels like you're just sitting in on a conversation happening right there at Stephanie's house.

4 Things With Amy Brown
Amy is a co-host on the Bobby Bones Show! I first heard of her when I started working at iHeartMedia and she launched this podcast not too long ago. She talks about four different topics on each episode.

Don't Blame Me!
This is an advice podcast by Meghan Rienks. She has a guest on each week and they tackle issues and questions from listeners. Lots of laughs and good advice.

The Bitch Bible
This podcast is not for everyone. Jackie unapologetically says what she wants and if I'm being honest, she says what I'm thinking most of the time. She is real and funny. If you're into celeb gossip, pop culture, the Real Housewives, and Vanderpump Rules, you'll like this.

The Skinny Confidential: Him & Her
Lauryn Evarts and Michael Bosstick are like the king and queen of podcasts. Topics vary from health to productivity to entertainment. They bring guests on each week to discuss different topics.

Straight Up With Stassi
I am a huge fan of Vanderpump Rules and LOVE this podcast. Stassi doesn't hold back on any topic and freely talks about whatever she wants.

Ancient Wisdom Today
Shaman Durek is pretty cool and this podcast focuses on ancient knowledge. He is all about putting the power back into our hands and his meditation episodes are pretty incredible.

Gals On The Go
I'm a huge fan of Danielle Carolan and Brooke Miccio so of course this podcast is on the list! They've got a good flow going and talk about life as college students, entertainment, productivity, and wellness.

Thick & Thin
I'm also a fan of Katy Bellotte and this podcast is great! She tackles a different topic each week and talks about life, love, and everything in between.

Crime Junkies
This is for all you who are true crime-obsessed! This is hands-down my favorite true crime podcast. Ashley and Brit discuss a case every Monday and keep the conversation going on their website and secret FB group!

Rise Podcast With Rachel Hollis
Rachel Hollis is killing the game right now and if you love any of her content, you will also love her podcast, which is a series of bold conversations with business powerhouses and personal development leaders. I always walk away with some great takeaways to apply to my own life.

Rise Together
Rachel Hollis and her husband, Dave, talk all about relationships in this podcast. If you're looking for a good one to listen to with your S.O., this is the one. I've learned so much about how to have the best relationship with David through this podcast.

How I Built This With Guy Raz
Ever wonder how some of your favorite brands came to be? Guy Raz dives into the stories behind some of the most well-known businesses and brands.

Art of the Hustle
This is a podcast that is designed to inspire entrepreneurs and fuel their life's work, but even if you don't consider yourself an entrepreneur, every episode has some great takeaways that anyone can apply to their own life. If you're working towards something in your life, this is a great podcast to listen to.

Velvet's Edge
Kelly Henderson (you might have seen her on Very Cavallari) is a stylist for some of the biggest names in country music and blogger. Her podcast is based on her lifestyle blog and answers lifestyle questions from beauty and fashion to travel and health.

If you're new to podcasts, this is a great list of podcasts to start with to find out what kind of content you want to consume. If you've been an avid listener of podcasts for a while, then these are great to add to the ones you already listen to.

What is your favorite podcast at the moment? What's it about? I'm always looking for new ones to dive in to!

xx,
Amanda
