Is A Furnished Apartment For You?

Considering a furnished apartment?

Finding a place to live can be a scary situation, but also an exciting time. I'm in the middle of the process now and I'm not going to lie. It is a bit stressful.

Looking for an apartment is half the battle. You also have to make sure it fits all your requirements. Did you know that some apartments come with a furnished appeal? This can be a huge asset for many modern apartment hunters. While it’s not the best fit for everyone, a furnished apartment is a great option for those who are wanting to rent and do not want to worry about moving furniture. It also might be a great idea to take a look at a furnished apartment for those that are going to be relocating to the area before the rest of the family comes down.

What Does Furnished Mean?

If you are looking for a furnished apartment for rent, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in the back of your mind before signing anything. To some, the unit is fully furnished and ready to move in. It might have a few appliances, a chair, a dining room table, and a couch. Before you sign anything, ask what this furnished means to them.

Other furnishings can also include the larger furniture, but also the smaller ones as well such as lamps, curtains, and even some decor. You would also expect to see such as a couch, dining set, and a bed. Make sure that whatever you expect is, it’s clear that the person you are renting from is on the same page as you.

Also, furnished can also impact on the budget that you have. Anything that is not included in your rent will need to be purchased right away. Sometimes these additional costs can negate the value of the apartment you had your eyes on altogether.

How Long Is The Lease?

There are many furnished apartments for rent but also known as short-term leases. Why is that? Many of the furnished apartments are typically marketed towards corporate professionals, transitional housing families, or students. Before you agree to anything, be extremely specific of the terms of the lease before you sign. You don’t want to be told that you are going to be in your new apartment but then it might come to bite you in the long run.

Where To Look

When considering an apartment, location is key. If you live in Georgia, one location to check out is called Furnished Apartments Atlanta. These gorgeous apartments come either fully furnished or partially furnished depending on your needs. This Atlanta-based building also offers short term rentals as well as long ones. These rentals are available now and allow comfort and luxurious settings for temporary living. Each is fully furnished and includes a washer and dryer within the unit as well as various utilities including wifi, cable, and more. There is even access to a fitness center, clubhouse, and a pool all while centrally located in the city.
Will My Existing Items Fit?
Keep in mind that a furnished apartment also will need to house some of your existed belongings. Before you look at a fully furnished apartment, take a moment to evaluate all of the items you’ll be bringing along and how much space you’ll have to store them in this new place. If you have some furniture, you might not have enough room in the newly furnished apartment to keep it all. If not, you will need to shell out some extra cash for a storage unit until you find a place you want to live in permanently. Again, this additional cost could be a downplay in the benefits of renting an already furnished apartment but it’s up to you and your needs.
All in all when it comes to looking for a place to live and how stressful moving is overall, looking for a fully furnished apartment might be the solution to your problem. There are many pros and cons to having a furnished apartment including the ease of not having to move your own things, hire a moving company, or figure out what you can keep or throw away. There are also cons such as a hire rent package, not being able to buy items that you love and it might not be your taste. Whatever your decision, the best part is that you have options to consider what is going to work best for you, your family, and your situation.
It will be a few months until I move, but I'm starting early to make sure I budget correctly and just do all my research before moving into a place. What advice do you have for me?
