Tips for Staying Healthy During the Holidays

Welcome back! I cannot believe that it is already November! The year has went by so fast and the holiday season is already here again. I absolutely love this time of year and getting together with family. Family get-togethers always involve food...lots of it! It is so easy to eat a few too many of your grandma's special chocolate chip cookies and an extra slice of pumpkin pie and also slack off on your workout routine. I have some tips to keep you healthy during the holiday season.

1. Drink more water
Years ago, I decided that other than having the occasional glass of sweet tea when I go out to eat, that I would start only drinking water. I love water, so that was not a hard change to make but I know that some people just find water so boring. To help you drink more water if you aren't a huge fan, add some lemon, cucumbers, or your favorite berries! The possiblities here are endless! Plus, by cutting out the sodas you drink drink daily, you can definitely have that pumpkin spice latte you've been craving, without ruining your diet.

2. Add fruit and veggies to every meal
Fruits and vegetables are good for you and it is important to make these a part of your every day diet. Add a banana to your breakfast, a salad and some berries to your lunch, and some fresh or steamed vegetables to your dinner! Snack on grapes, celery, or carrots to get you through your day. If you aren't used to eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, this might take some getting used to, but you will feel better and keep you full!

3. Get your workout on
Sometimes I go to the gym, but usually I jump on Pinterest and find a full body workout to do every morning. I love being able to workout in the comfort of my room and I just feel better when I've had my workout. If all you have is 15 minutes, that is better than nothing!

4. Enjoy those holiday goodies
Yes, I said it! Enjoy those homemade mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie! It is totally fine to eat your favorite foods, but the key is moderation! Don't deprive yourself!

There you have it, just a few tips for you! I am planning on putting these tips into a YouTube video for my channel sometime this month, so be sure to check out both my Lifestyle Channel and my Vlog Channel! Have a great weekend!

xx,
Amanda
