Easy Ways To Eat Healthy

Eating healthy really doesn't have to be so hard.

One of the biggest things that puts people off eating healthy is the effort required when preparing healthy meals. Many of us don’t want to be spending our evenings chopping vegetables and slaving over a stove - it’s much easier to shove a pizza (we all know this is my favorite food) in the oven or order a takeaway.

Fortunately, eating healthy doesn’t have to be a chore. Here are just several ways to make eating healthy fast and convenient so that it’s more appealing.

Save time chopping with pre-chopped vegetables
Hate having to chop vegetables? Most grocery stores sell pre-chopped vegetables. You can even buy potatoes pre-skinned and pre-cut. Try to avoid canned or frozen chopped vegetables if you can as they’ll contain less nutrients and possibly extra additives.

Save time shopping with meal kits
If shopping for lots of ingredients stresses you out, you could also add convenience to your life by opting for meal kits. These contain all the necessary ingredients you need for one meal, so that you can spend less time shopping. Some of these kits are centered around specific diets such as the keto diet – you’ll find some of the best keto diet meal kits by shopping online. In fact, you’ll find all kinds of meal kits available to order online, saving you the hassle of having to go to your local grocery store.

Try healthy ready meals
Ready meals get a bad rep, but nowadays there are many healthy ready meal options out there that are almost as healthy as cooking from fresh. Such ready meals can be simply shoved in the oven or microwave, saving you the entire process of cooking.

Try meal prepping
Meal prepping involves cooking multiple meals in advance. If you don’t want to spend weekday evenings, but have some time on a Sunday evening, this could be a good option – you can cook a load of meals together and then store them in the fridge or freezer to heat up later. Just be wary that certain foods shouldn’t be stored in the fridge for more than a few days such as meat and fish, so if you are meal prepping on Sunday, you may only want to prepare meals up until Thursday night latest.

Make cooking easier with the right tools
There are various tools that can take the effort out of cooking. Many people find that mandolin slicers make chopping easier, whilst getting a blender could be easier than having to crush and whisk foods by hand. Slow cookers are also fantastic as they allow you to cook food for hours through the day whilst bringing out the full flavor – rather than having to spend hours cooking a stew in the evening after you’ve been at work, you can put the ingredients in a slow cooker in the morning and it will be ready by the time you’ve came home from work.

Here's to healthy eating! Let's fuel our bodies and remember.. if you want that brownie, eat it and then get back to life.

Amanda
