5 Easy Ways To Celebrate Halloween

Halloween is near! Are you ready to celebrate the spookiest day of the year?

I'll be really honest here. Halloween has not always been my favorite holiday. Please, keep reading before you click away and decide to never come back. Just listen..

I did not really like dressing up crazy as a kid. When I dressed up for Halloween, I chose simple things. I was a witch a couple of times. I was a princess. I think I was a cat at one point? I did not want crazy hair or face paint. I just wanted to look as "normal" as possible.

I also have never been a huge fan of candy, so trick-or-treating was not something I cared too much about. I would go with my siblings and at the end of the night, eat a Reese's or two. After that, I would give all my Halloween candy to my siblings. You know Jimmy Kimmel's bit where he asks parents to send in videos telling their kid that they ate all their Halloween candy? The videos are hilarious, but if my mom would have done that to me as a kid, I would have just been like, "okay" and walked away.

Have I lost you yet?

Even though I've never been in to dressing up or loads of candy, Halloween is still so fun for me. Why? Well, because I love fall. I love carving pumpkins. I love seeing all the little kids dress up and giving them candy. I love the fun, not scary Halloween movies. I love Halloween way more as an adult than I ever did as a kid.

This Halloween, I'll definitely go trick-or-treating with my little nephew. I'm excited to see what he chooses to dress up as and will definitely post it all on Instagram for you to see. I don't mean to brag, but my nephew is the freakin' cutest little kid around. I do want to host a party or do something else, later that night or over the weekend, though!

Have plans for Halloween yet? If not, lucky for you, I've come up with five ways to celebrate Halloween that won't disappoint.

Wear Halloween pajamas and watch your favorite Halloween movies.
I love a good festive pajama. I always hit up Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Target for festive clothing. My favorite Halloween movies include all of the Halloweentown movies and Hocus Pocus! I am not one who loves a scary movie, so a real scary movie never makes my list.

Dress up and hand out candy to the little trick-or-treaters.
I don't live in a neighborhood, but I am so looking forward to the time I do! If you live in a neighborhood, dress up in a fun outfit and give out the best candy you can find. I'm talking full-size candy bars or chocolate. Be the best house on the block.

Host a festive Halloween party.
I love a good party! Hit up Pinterest for some Halloween-inspired food and cocktails for a fun menu and make a playlist on Spotify with some good music to set the entire vibe. Encourage everyone to dress up and just have fun! You could even make this a potluck situation.

Bake festive treats (yes, wear Halloween pajamas).
I think Pinterest or a good Halloween-edition of a cooking magazine are your best resources here. This is perfect for a quieter night in with a your best friend or even alone. You have to do this is in Halloween pajamas!

Attend a Halloween event near you.
I love checking out the events tab on Facebook to find out what's happening around me. Also, a quick Google search will do the trick. Attend that big Halloween party in your city or bar crawl that is starting out this year. Go out on the town and get your spook on!

Ready for spooky season?

xx,
Amanda
