Facial Oils I Can't Live Without

For years, I was scared to use oils on my face. That has changed.

Honestly, my mom still looks at me like I'm crazy when she sees me putting oils on my face, but it works for me, ya know?

Also... I'm writing this to you as I'm sitting by the fire with a marg in hand. The only tequila I'll drink is Villa One. The Reposado is the best. Seriously. Thank you Nick Jonas.

Okay, let's get to what this post is actually all about. Oils on your face. I haven't been using oils on my for face for all that long because honestly, I was scared, but The Skinny Confidential changed my mind and I've embraced oils on my face and I'm never going back.

Like, what was I scared of?

I'll quickly just kind of walk you through what I do every day. We'll start in the morning. Once my face is washed, I use one of the BeautyCounter facial oils. Here's what each of them do.

No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil is designed to help hydrate and improve the appearance of skin radiance. Omega-rich marula oil provides intense hydration, while antioxidant vitamin C helps brighten and even skin tone. I'll use this on days that I'm not really wearing any makeup or anything.

No. 2 Plumping Facial Oil  is designed to help hydrate, nourish, and visibly firm skin. Jasmine floral wax provides a subtle floral scent while Omega-rich Argan oil helps deliver essential omega acids to the skin. I use this one probably the least, but like to use this one on my neck.

Quick tip... whatever you're using on your face, you should always use on your neck, too.

No. 3 Balancing Facial Oil is designed to help hydrate, smooth, and even skin tone. Softening meadowfoam seed oil helps restore balance, while ylang ylang provides a delicate scent. I'll use this when my skin being problematic.

This product isn't necessarily a facial oil, but it is a serum that I love! For my entire life, I've had really dark circles under my eyes. I would get plenty of sleep, but still have really dark circles. Every morning, I use a single drop of the Revolution Targeted Under Eye Serum under my under eye area. This stuff has really lightened up the area and helped my dark circles!

Okay... in the evening, once my face is washed, I use Rosehip Oil. Rosehip oil has so many benefits for our skin. Here's a few benefits of using rosehip oil.

Benefits of rosehip oil:
hydrating and moisturizing
helps exfoliate and brighten skin
helps boost collagen formation
helps reduce inflammation
protects against sun damage
reduces fine lines and scars

Using facial oils haven't made my skin break out or do anything crazy, but instead, has improved the overall appearance and feeling of my skin. If you're looking to start using facial oils, I would start with the rosehip because it is one that is common and widely used on the face. Also, a couple drops seriously go a long way.

Alright... I'm signing off. I'm going to finish my margarita and I think watch some Lizzie McGuire. Anyone else love that show, too?

xx,
Amanda
